ADVANCED OPEN WATER The next step in your diving education is the PADI / Ocean Explorers Advanced Open Water Diver Course. This program should be named the “get some experience diving with your instructor course.” Many people mistakenly believe that you have to be an advanced diver to take this course. Not so. Our goal is for you to get some experience doing different types of diving in different locations under different conditions. You will do 5 “Adventure” dives, each a sampling of our continuing education specialty courses. One will be a deep dive taking you to a maximum of 100’. One will teach you the basics of navigating underwater. The other three will be chosen by you and your instructor based on the type of diving that may interest you. It might be a wreck or boat dive here off the coast of New Jersey. Or you can complete the Advanced Open Water training dives on one of our vacation trips. You can learn multi-level diving on a wall in Grand Cayman. Fly over a reef in Cozumel while drift diving. Or do your first night dive on the world famous town pier in Bonaire. Don’t begin your diving adventure alone. Let us show you how to fully enjoy your new underwater lifestyle. |

RESCUE DIVER This is another course that probably should have a different name. “Rescue” diver makes you think of saving people in trouble or looking for missing weapons at a crime scene. Not so again. Rescue Diver is our “what if” training. Here you will Learn what to do “if” something happens to you or a dive buddy. Perhaps more important, you will learn how to identify and even prevent a problem from occurring. The Open Water Diver teaches you to be comfortable In the water. The Advanced Open Water teaches you about your environment. The Rescue Diver makes you aware of the people you are diving with. Should you decide to go on to our LEADERSHIP programs, such as Divemaster and Instructor you will actually take responsibility for other divers. These are the four rings of our circles of awareness.
